A few days ago my world started refusing to load. I would select the world and the progress bar would not advance then after a minute or so it would go to the brown screen and tell me "There was a problem loading this world." I searched for solutions online and some people suggested copying the world and trying to load the copy. I tried this. Invariably the game crashes, sometimes with a pink checkerboard, sometimes not. Usually when I restart Minecraft I get a message saying my save data was restored due to corruption. Upon trying the world again the same things happen. The original just won't load, copies cause the game to crash. I have several backups of this world so I resigned myself to losing some progress and loaded an earlier one. The same thing happens. Ditto for even earlier. I restored a version from my PSN cloud storage. Same thing. Often when I restore an older version it will load but if I save and quit it will start doing the same thing again. Sometimes it will let me save and quit twice before it won't load again, but never more than twice. I waited until the update came out today to try again hoping that that would fix it. No luck. I have cleared my cache and rebuilt my database several times, reinstalled Minecraft several times, even reset my PS5. Nothing helps. I'm not even doing anything on the world lately, just walking around, but after I save and quit, the world won't reload. Here are some things that may or may not matter: the world is 1.1 gb in size, I think this started happening right after the Dr. Seuss stuff started appearing on the main menu, this world was transferred to my PS5 from my PS4 several months ago and has been playing just fine almost every day since July, the most recent things I had done in the world were completing a trial chamber and finding a screaming goat and breeding more of them from it, my son often plays split screen with me and had gone through the trial chamber with me, I had just finished leveling a large sand area near my base, and several other people had played on the world recently using one-time guest accounts on the PS5. I don't know if any of these things are important to the problem.
I'm sorry if this is a duplicate. I did search for the issue and found a few reports that seemed similar to what I was experiencing but not quite the same thing. I don't know if this is related or not.
Please advise me on what to do here. I do not want to have to abandon this world as there is a lot of work that has gone into it and many rare things that have been acquired (blue axolotls and most of the rare armor trims to name a couple). If I have to rebuild all of this from scratch I probably won't bother with it for a long time.

Yes, seems very similar.
We do not have enough information to find the cause of this issue.
Please attach the affected (zipped) world file. If the file size is too large, please upload it somewhere else and then link to it here.
On PlayStation you can follow these steps to copy a world save:
Make sure your BLANK USB stick has been formatted to FAT32
On your PlayStation, go to Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Saved Data in System Storage > Copy to USB Storage Device > Select Minecraft > Select Saved World to copy > Copy
This should then copy the world save to the USB, which you can share to a file sharing site such as OneDrive, and then share the link.

Sorry for the delay in response. The files were to big to upload so I had to figure out how to use OneDrive (which I'd never used before). Hopefully I did it correctly. Here are the links:

Both of these worlds are the same world. The first link (the file labeled "works briefly") is to my world downloaded from PSN's cloud storage. This version of the world will load up, but after I save once or twice (after doing nothing but walking around my base for a minute or two) it won't load any more at all. The second link (the file labeled "won't load") is the same world after I've played it for a couple of minutes and saved once or twice. This version won't load at all and if I try to copy it and load the copy the game usually crashes.
Please let me know if you can't access these files and I'll try to figure out what I did wrong in uploading / sharing them. Thank you.

The same here in version 1.21.72 of the PS4.
After updating to version 1.21.72, the map loaded, however due to slowness, we chose to save and load the map again. From then on, it no longer loads, always showing the same message: "There was a problem loading this world". The same thing happened with the backup file, it loads the first time, however after saving the same error repeats itself.
We tried to import the map into Realms, however, on the first attempt, when it reached 70% we got an error. Now, new attempts stop at 0% with the following message: "We couldn't pack your world file for upload. Maybe your hard drive is full?". But we have more than 80% of the disk free.
The file is 1.2GB and was created in 2021 with my daughter, We have several stories together on this map.
I can make the file available on OneDrive if that helps. Please fix this because my daughter watched the movie and now we can't access our map.
If you have a copy of the world available, you might like to upload a copy of it for investigation.
On Windows 10 you can use the Export world feature.
On Android or iOS you need to use a file explorer to navigate to Device storage > games > com.mojang > minecraftWorlds
On Xbox or Switch the only way is to upload it to a Realm, and then download the world on Windows 10 or Android/iOS. (Please do not purchase a Realms subscription just to provide a world to us - but if you have a Realm already this may be a viable option if you wish to do so.)
Here are the steps to copy a world save on PlayStation to a blank formatted USB stick:
On your PlayStation, go to Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Saved Data in System Storage > Copy to USB Storage Device > Select Minecraft > Select Saved World to copy > Copy
This should then copy the world save to the USB, which you can share to a file sharing site such as OneDrive, and then share the link.
If the world is larger than 10MB you can upload the world to OneDrive or a similar file sharing site, and then share the link.

@Mega_Spud , here it is: PS4.zip
If it helps, the map was not saved in the update prior to 1.21.72.
Good luck to us and thank you.

I just updated the game, and the same issue. 😢
