Random actions in the Eerie Mojang Office Party cause the app to completely crash, destroying all progress. Examples include killing mobs in minigames or clicking on menu boards, and their randomness means it makes for an extremely frustrating playthrough.
To replicate:
1. Open the event on your iPhone
2. Try playing through anything. DON'T click on any menu boards since another bug means it is impossible to close them.
3. Eventually, the entire app will crash randomly.

I play on Bedrock for the Nintendo Switch and my game also crashes randomly while playing on the server.
The first time I joined the game it crashed just after talking to Jens at the entrance. The second time I joined I was able to talk to Jens without any problems and I played the Assembly Attack minigame, however the game crashed again shortly after while I exploring the Mob Factory.
The game also asked me to download the resource packs both times I joined the server, I am not sure if this is normal behaviour but I thought it might be relevant to the issue.
Edit: According to @@unknown, the resource packs not downloading is unrelated to the crash.
@unknown: The pack not saving issue is MCPE-142588.
For me it's very consistently no more then a second before I crash, and there's no lag leading up to it, I load in and everything works fine for a split second, then as you can see in Quick crash.mp4: Minecraft just simply closes,
(Other multiplayer is still working completely fine)
my game crashes when i join the server and especially each time when i try to go into the minigame departments, it won't let me in the qa department at all... i don't want to not be able to get the event cape... please fix mojang
If you really do want the cape, and this bug continues to be unfixed near the end of the event, you may be able to let someone you trust log in to your account on their own device and earn it for you, or you yourself log in to another device if you have multiple available to you
(unless the issue you're experiencing is one linked to your account, though I have personally tried this and it did fully work on their device and I now have the cape)
When I join the event I see stuff for a second and the minecraft crashes my whole device and only one time it only crashed minecraft.
I use a Samsung galaxy tab A8
Please fix it soon I really want to be able to get the new cape before it's gone for good

I’m experiencing an issue very similar to yours.
My Minecraft Version: 1.21.50
My iOS Version: iOS 17.7
My Device: iPad (9th Generation)
when I join the event server, upon spawning in the lobby (the red one) I get about 1 to 2 minutes before crashing, if I can get to one of the coloured floating elevator things in time I can join those without crashing, which means I cannot complete any of the red areas stickers
TLDR: Crash within 2 mins in main lobby, no crash elsewhere.
