I cannot hear any sounds effects (hitting, taking damage, mobs etc.) being on my friend's world. And she cannot hear sound effects if she is on my world. If we're on our own world (singleplayer) we can hear everything just fine.
PD: we not have any modifications.

I just downloaded this for the first time. I fired up the demo world and cannot hear any world sounds. I have audio when the game starts including music. Menu sounds work as well. Music continues to work in the world, but I can't hear anything else. No animal sounds, no digging sounds, nothing. Just music.
It appears I have 1.0.5 for the Windows 10 edition.
Confirmed still a bug. 1.0.5 Win10 hosting has sound. Lan has sound 1.0.5 Pocket Edition Live connected has no sound effects. Except for menu clicks only. Nothing else. Please fix.
I have this same issue using the Gear VR version.
I have a Samsung S7, buddy is on a Samsung Note 5.
When I start a VR game, I have audio, but when he connects he has no audio at all.

Multiple test conducted - With/without bluetooth, being in a party prior to creating the game, not being in a party. It seems consistent that the joining player will have no audio. The host has audio for himself, and actions the joined player makes can be heard by the host, however volume is very low.
In my case the bug appears to be resolved, however, each pc is a world. Therefore, I hope the bug gets solved for all and don't happen to me again.
I and a friend are also affected by this issue. When we play with each other over xbox live, the person who connects to the other can't hear any sound effects.
