Even though the performance with the new visuals is good, going near an ocean significantly lowers the FPS.

It may be because of those cool water reflections, try the settings for vibrant visuals it may help out.
Can confirm on Xbox
I have tried fiddling with the volumetric for setting, but doesn't affect performance near large water sources, as the fps lowers even when only the water is in sight without volumetric fog in sight.
issue is still present and tweaking visuals is not helping without drastically reducing them.
Ps5 should we be able to handle it easily there should be a consideration that this is from the devs side
This happens on Xbox too.
It is NOT because of volumetric fog and it is NOT because of SSR.
You can test both options set to the lowest possible on Minecraft preview and there is no improvement.
This also happens with more than just “oceans” it happens with any large body of water.
Please fix this.
The performance impact is extremely severe and happens just with large bodies of water within your render distance and in the direction you are looking.
You don’t even have to physically see the water.
This has been an issue since the release and they have yet to do anything about it and refuse to address it
This has been a problem since Vibrant Visuals released and it’s very annoying. Near water I have to turn down all settings halfway to get a consistent 60fps on PS5!
Probably due to all the reflections, what did you have reflection quality set to?
