Even if there is light on the block, if the block's texturek is dark, the whole screen still become brighter when looking at that block. But if that block is any other color, the auto exposure will know that there is light on it, and keep the same or similar brightness.

Luis Nava: this issue is distinct. (MCPE-220856) is about the intensity of auto-exposure. This report is about auto-exposure reacting to color rather than light level.
Here is the setup I used to confirm. The torch shown is the only light source inside the 9x9 room.
