So ive had this issue for a while, and no deleting and re-installing minecraft didnt help.
The directional Sound is broken in multiple ways:
walking sound(especially walking on grass) cuts off and sounds wrong all the time compared to java
its very hard to actually listen to music discs while building or doing anything, because if u dont look DIRECTLY at the jukebox u cant hear it, if u move, the sound gets distorted, if u have ur back turned to it u cant hear it at all. Which is horrible design and makes for really inconvenient playing
a new bug i found is… the normal minecraft background music, which plays without discs, it also gets scuffed/distorted depending which direction you face.
Please fix this its really frustrating and makes the game less enjoyable
I used to be a java player, and i gotta say java sound design is way better, just do it like java please, this directional sound design is horrible

This bug is a real nuisance. I have very sensitive hearing so I have to have the sound low so now I can’t hear many sounds unless they are directly in front of me. I don’t know why that would be - sound isn’t like this in real life. Sounds in front of you are amplified and sounds behind fade out to be almost unheard. See cow clip below.
Trapdoor volume when right next to them varies.
I hope you don’t mind me posting these on your bug report. I thought it was better to have one complete bug report than have duplicates. Just one more clip to go.
How can walking be either noisy or silent?
I have been killed by several silent mobs that get right behind you making no noise - including being knocked into lava and losing all my stuff. This happens on MC Preview as well.
@Steve thank you for complementing my report, this bug annoys me so much, I'm making an addon project that uses minecraft dungeons camera, since the camera is distant, I can't hear any sounds anymore
No problem. Let’s get this bug fixed! Good luck with your project - I hope you can complete other parts of it while this is sorted out.
I barely use jukebox because of that, I would need to be constantly facing it to be able to hear the music properly
