Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Load up any version earlier than 1.21.120.22 Preview

  2. Place the “Unpacked” painting against the sun

  3. Compare it with the current preview under the same lighting settings

There is no new texture file for the paintings in 1.21.120.22 Preview. The two screenshots clearly show different lighting. Are you sure there is a difference in the rendering of the paintings?

The lighting conditions are the same, it's just the adjusted contrast.

All the VV textures were changed in the 1.21.90 folder, if you compare those you'll see a clear difference.

Thank you for your report!

However, this issue Works as intended

As stated in the changelog Vibrant Visuals have been adjusted (contrast, temperature).

That is not the issue the report is describing. The report is about the textures of the paintings, not the general contrast adjustment.

I can confirm. As one example, the file resources\vanilla 1.21.90\textures\paintings\unpacked_mers.tga has been changed between the current release and current preview. The values in the metallic channel in the current release go as high as 101, but in the current preview the highest value is 25.
