Skeleton horses don't display the death message when killed, unlike every other tamed pet, including horses, donkeys, mules, zombie horses, llamas, trader llamas, wolves, cats, parrots, nautiluses, and zombie nautiluses.
Steps to reproduce the issue:
Spawn a skeleton horse, ride it, then kill it.
Expected result:
A death message should be displayed to the player.
Actual result:
Nothing happens

Skeleton horses are not pets and cannot be tamed, so displaying a death message for them does not make sense. The fact that they can be ridden and controlled does not make them pets or tameable mobs.
This behavior is consistent with other non-tameable but rideable mobs, such as pigs and striders.
