Software keeps crashing entire Switch after update 26.20

Updated Minecraft on Nintendo Switch to version 26.20. When Minecraft loads to menu, about 5-10 seconds later the entire switch goes black with an error 2168-0002 and a message to power off the system. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with same results.

AFAIK it crashes mostly when launched undocked.

Somewhat of a workaround:

  • Launch game while the switch is docked.

  • If freeze occurs during auto sign-in, press the home button twice to force load.

Hope this helps.

I didn’t get this issue. I play on Switch.

But according to @TranAran it's because of the sign-in and I’m not connected to an account.

I just want to play Minecraft on Nintendo Switch OLED, but…

Error code: 2168-0002

In main menu in Minecraft

Yesterday - 2 times

Today - 3 times…

I made a video about the error code 2168-0002, but it's in Russian, and I translated everything (made English subtitles). I hope there will be an update soon so I can play normally on the Nintendo Switch OLED without the critical error.

The back end changes won’t require a software update, so if you are able to restart and check if the issue is still occurring, that would be helpful for us to know. (Sometimes a second restart might be needed for the changes to take effect.)

Mega_Spud (Jay), the problem persists.... Can you please release an update that will fix this bug/critical error? Here's a video of the problem (yeap, critical error 2168-0002):

Aheh… sorry for my English, I'm just Russian and it's difficult for me to speak in English language 😅

I don't have this issue but I heard the problem is with Microsoft accounts and because I’m not connected to an account it's probably why I don't have this issue.

I also heard it appen less often when on TV and you can force the game to load by double taping the home menu bouton.

I initially wrote to the AI about this problem, the only thing it says is that Minecraft is accessing the wrong RAM, which is why it's throwing error 2168-0002.

And looking at the comments here, it seems like there really is a problem signing into a Microsoft/Xbox account and with invalid addressing in RAM from Minecraft (maybe).

I haven’t experienced error 2168-0002 for a while, but I still do get the soft crash randomly with the message: “The software was closed because an error occurred.” Might have to do with the new UI because it mostly happens when I access Settings during gameplay.

I could just be lucky, so I hope it’s fixed for everyone else soon.

@RandomNoob No need to parrot every comment mentioned here. You’re just creating clutter.
