Framerate Limit Slider doesn’t uncap FPS when set to Unlimited

When setting the framerate slider to Unlimited, it doesn’t uncap the framerate regardless of Video Modes and instead locks it to 60 even when VSync is disabled from options.txt and from Nvidia App or Nvidia Control Panel. Additionally, on systems with AMD graphics, if AMD Adrenalin Edition's Vertical Refresh is set to the default "Off, unless application specifies," the game remains locked at the screen’s refresh rate. Forcing this setting to "Always Off" globally bypasses the lock and uncaps the framerate, proving the game is actively sending a forced VSync request to the display driver when set to Unlimited.

Go to Settings, then to Video, and set the Framerate Limit Slider to Unlimited.

[status]

The framerate should uncap completely when the slider is set to Unlimited. The game should bypass the system's default VSync and refrain from sending a refresh rate lock instruction to the display driver, allowing the GPU to push frames freely.

[status]

The FPS is capped at the screen’s refresh rate even when VSync is disabled from options.txt or Nvidia Control Panel/App. The game engine appears to actively force a VSync request to the AMD integrated graphics managing the display which overrides the Unlimited setting, the options.txt file, and configurating VSync to Off from Nvidia App/Control Panel.

This also affects other platforms, forgot to change Platform to Multiple.

This is with Vertical Refresh in AMD software to turned off, unless application specifies.

my issue isn't a duplicate to MCPE-110006 as the framerate Limit Slider doesn’t work as expected and locks fps even when it says its on unlimited. The slider is broken when set to unlimited.

The UI falsely advertises an uncapped option. I agree that the engine forcing VSync is intentional by design (as per MCPE-110006). If the engine is hardcoded to lock at the monitor's refresh rate, then the Framerate Limit slider is broken/misleading because it allows players to select 'Unlimited' when that state is impossible to achieve.

I will probably update this issue as a UI bug instead.

The Unlimited setting is kinda misleading since it’s just capping it to your screen’s refresh rate.

This seems to be fixed in 26.20

Correction: This seems to be working as intended.
