I added screenshots to this post, hope this helps.

I really hope this gets fixed because 60fps might be a lot to some people, but with my good laptop that's super low.

  • Its possible its just running at 60 fps

  • Vsync might be enabled by your graphics driver (seperate from Minecraft)

  • Make sure to close Minecraft before saving the text file then re-open Minecraft (otherwise it might be changed by the game)

No, I have already checked my graphics driver, and I know it's not just running at 60fps because when I exit out of full screen I get 300fps, and yes, I close minecraft before I edit options.txt. The problem started after Renderdragon was introduced to Windows 10

For some reason I get 300-500fps with full screen off but with full screen on I get 60fps

I have this issue on my laptop which has an integrated gpu and an rtx 3050 TI. However, not on my older PC which just has an nvidia rtx 2060 super. My gut is saying it is to do with the the windows compositor / DWM

Edit: Optimus laptop, Fps is unlocked with windowed not fullscreen.

To People experiencing this issue when in full-screen only:
Your issue is likely fixable by disabling windows full-screen optimizations
To disable full-screen optimizations in Windows:

  • Locate your Minecraft bedrock exe (Usually at — `C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_[...]\Minecraft.Windows.exe`)

  • Right click on it

  • Go to properties

  • Head to the compatibility tab

  • Check "Disable full screen optimizations"

  • Press Apply

And you're done!

Yes, still present.

  1. Go to AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\games\com.mojang\minecraftpe

  2. Open options.txt

  3. Change the gfx_vsync value from 1 to 0

  4. Save the changes

  5. Open Minecraft

  6. Notice FPS is still capped at monitor refresh rate

This bug is caused by the Render Dragon engine.

Thank you for your report!
