If you look closely at the cushion block when it is placed on a block, it is slightly floating above it. This is especially noticeable when it is placed under a transparent block such as leaves.
Notes: This affects all entities, it’s just more noticeable with cushions.

I think it's supposed to be a bit taller to combat Z fighting, but I think the designer accidentally moved the model up, instead of resizing it.
It looks like an easy fix to me, Mojang just has to do it.
Hello,
I had a report that got resolved it was MCPE-240888 and I was told that my report was a duplicate of this one. I have looked at this report and it is something slightly different to what I am trying to explain. What am I explaining is that the cushion’s size in bedrock is different to the one in Java. The ticket you showed me was that the cushion was slightly off the ground. My one is saying the cushion is bigger than the stair in length with the images provided. The first one being Java where the other half of the cushion is covered by stair because it is taller, the other being Bedrock with the cushion being taller than the stair. This causes an inconsistency between the versions of how you can use the cushion. I hope you understand.

This was caused by incorrect (elevated) placement on surfaces and has been fixed in version 26.50.20; you can verify that it now works exactly like in Java Edition. In both Bedrock and Java, the cushions have always been the same size.
Please do not duplicate messages across different reports in the future.
