Because the side texture of the grass block is tinted by stand-alone hex codes in terrain_texture.json (separate from the top texture, tinted by the colormap gradients), the resulting color of the side tinting does not always match the color of the top tinting. This is most noticeable at the transition between biomes (as the “biome blend” gradient affect does not apply to the sides) and anywhere in the cherry grove (tracked by MCPE-168200). This also relates to MCPE-121836.
Steps to Reproduce:
Locate the area where two biomes meet or locate a cherry grove
The edge of a pale garden is a good choice as the color change is very noticeable
Compare the color of the side of the grass blocks to the color of the top
Expected Result:
The color on the side of a grass block always matches the color on the top
Actual Result:
The colors are mismatched under the aforementioned conditions
