EDIT: 9/20/17 Further experiments. I no longer believe it is snow and rain that triggers the snow layers to disappear. I caught the layers disappearing BEHIND the game menus when I was toggling the weather cycle to "on". Please fix!
Pre existing snow layers only stack 3 high and then convert to automatic full blocks. This was noticed AFTER xbox one edition map is converted to new MC version. See pics. 256 MB is the new version after converted. 1.93 is before i converted (and looked much nicer before on xbox edition)

Try and stack the layers in clusters and varying heights next to each other so that they make a staircase like incline. after 3 layers it should cut off on the converted version and either turn into full snow blocks or disappear completely.
Did a little more experimenting. When it starts to snow, thats when it seems like the new snow layers that are supposed to fall and form begin to erase the alreadyvexisting snow layers from the converted world.
