the new update changed the way the light levels look for me. everything is a lot darker, even when i set brightness to max. exploring caves is a lot more difficult since torches don't do much and it's really hard to see.

Light shaders are not working correctly. It's as though the Ambient Occlusion is outweighing the diffuse lighting. Some areas seem well lit, while corners, holes, channels and stairs seem as thought they can't be lit very well at all. When digging a channel, I simply can't light it to see very well. A torch isn't at all effective in certain situations, making it difficult to check if there are holes ahead. On flat open ground, it's ok.

After the last update, light levels are way off! Where before I could place a torch every 14 or so blocks, now I'm down to only about 3 to 5 blocks. I have brightness set all the way up in settings and still way too dark. Also tried to change the gamma in the options file, but when I start the game it reverts to 0.
