When I play on Realms server and my Minecraft is on full screen mode, I use to listen to music on Spotify. When I try to change music while playing Minecraft, I use CTRL + TAB to switch to Spotify, but when I come back to Minecraft, the Realms server freeze for me for like 5 secs and after that it log me out with "Disconnected from server".
/Again, sorry for my English. I hope you understood me.

I don't know if this has to do with your music. Are you able to re-create it?

@Thomas Dorland No, it has nothing to do with my music, I just gave an example. This happens, when I switch from Minecraft in fullscreen mode to every single program/app on my PC. Yes, I could re-create it. 🙂

This happens to me on most devices while playing on Bedrock (iOS, Windows and Xbox) and isn't just limited to realms. To replicate on iOS:
Open up Minecraft and log into Xbox Live
Join any server
Enter multitasking and tap on another application
Re-enter Minecraft
This may have to do with the fact that the game is too far behind to catch up with the server. I don't believe that the application continues running in the background when connected to servers/realms.

When an app is in fullscreen mode, it can use faster methods to draw on the screen. Those methods aren't compatible with sharing the screen with other apps, so when you switch apps the fullscreen app is placed in a suspended state. That prevents it from being able to stay in touch with the server, so after a short time the server gives up trying to talk to it and breaks the connection. When you return to the fullscreen app, it tries to resume talking to the server for a few seconds, then concludes it's been disconnected.
One workaround is to run the app in a maximized window instead of fullscreen. In window mode there's no need to suspend the game; it just runs in the background (automatically switched to the "pause" menu, but the server connection isn't affected by that). The video updates will be slightly less efficient, but for Minecraft you probably wouldn't even notice, and the image size will only be slightly smaller than in fullscreen mode.
Thank you for your report!
