While other aspects of the beta are working no Drowned have spawned and even after keeping a zombie swimming for two minutes he did not drown.

Same. Was standing on top of a shipwreck with mobs turned on for two in-game days and not a single one spawned. I saw two skeletons and a spider on a small sand island, but nothing else.

We were unable to reproduce the problem you are describing in the latest version.

It happens to me too. I've never encounter a drowned.. And normal zombie never get drown.
