My friend and I both have this issue when trying to join each other’s worlds, we get “outdated client” or “outdated server”. We have tried all the troubleshooting possibilities from xbox support like uninstalling, leaving then joining the beta again but nothing has worked.

My friend and I are having this issue, too. We wanted to do a Wither fight so he could get the achievements but he couldn't join my world due to "outdated server". Both of us have our xboxes set to auto-update so we get every new update when it comes out. We're both on the same version. And yet he still can't join my worlds.

@Theresa Mackillop are you both in the beta? As I mentioned earlier the changelog states that you cannot join players unless they are in the beta
@Jonathan Hanzel Did you not see where I said we were both in the latest version? Our Xboxes are set to update automatically when a new update comes out so yes, we are on the same version. We checked. But it still will not let us join each other's worlds
If there is an option to join some beta, neither of us clicked it. We don't want to play in a buggy as hell thing until it's official release and stable. And Mojang fixes all the spawners they broke. We just want to be able to play together.
you join the beta through the xbox insider app, my xbox one version of minecraft runs perfectly fine, it’s just the windows 10 crosplay one they won’t let my friend and i play on together. please fix this bug!! i have someone from xbox support investigating further also
ok. she says they are playing the beta version and i hope xbox support can help you resolve this cause my girl is going nuts without her access to online windows 10 version. its odd cause that version is the xbox console i bought for christmas but that last update totally screwed the whole game up for her and my son cause he cant join any lan games either since update. so ill be following this thread hoping to find an answer to this issue. thanks
I've been getting this issue on both Windows 10 and Xbox One, when I try to connect up my iPad (which is on 1.2.15 aquatic update) and it says outdated client.
any news from xbox support about this issue? they havent helped me at all and my kid is freaking out without her minecraft...
