I was blowing up a sphere that went high into the sky. I used several hundred tnt. When the explosions were complete there were white pieces of cloud all over the ground. I can't get rid of them because the don't seem to respond to anything. They fall if I remove the blocks under them and flowing water will move them

However, this issue has been closed as Cannot Reproduce.
We were unable to reproduce the problem you are describing in the latest version. (The clouds cannot be damaged by explosions.)

Those white blocks aren't clouds because the clouds in minecraft are not blocks but just a rendered image, the white blocks are probably tnt ghost blocks.
