/spreadplayers command causes lag

When I use a spreadplayers command like

/spreadplayers ~ ~ 50 100000 @a

(max range : 100000, very large)

for spreading players far away, the PC starts lagging and uses all of the system's memory.
The memory usage indicates 100% usage. This happens both when I try to to execute the command via console and command block.

I think it is related chunk loading problem.

I have experience this bug as well in Race to Respawn.  If I select a range > 1000, it causes lag that persists until the game is restarted.  If the Range is larger, the lag gets worse.

I also tried the command from 10,000 block away on the X and Z axis and it worked fine if the range was small.

To reproduce the issue, enter the command: /spreadplayers ~ ~ 1 5000 @s

(If you are in survival or adventure, you will likely die because the command doesn't quite work right, but I have implemented a workaround for this in-game)

NOTE: This lag problem is more pronounced on mobile and console platforms.  Windows 10 is able to handle it a little better, likely because of the CPU and RAM of the computer.

I can confirm this: it happens to me.

I'm helping building a server and when testing locally (PC, international windows 10 version, exact minecraft version unknown but it's after the update where /kill can kill creative mode players), /spreadplayers (with range 9999) was done within a few seconds but since then the game lags hard (roughly one game tick per second, behaves as if server is running slow but client is running at full speed), and it could only recover when exiting and re-entering the world.

Then I went to the server (server spec unavailable; it's on NetEase's server. Running a Chinese Minecraft version that is after all Aquatic updates but before /kill kills creative mode players.), with range 50000 the server froze for a few solid minutes before being able to return to normal.
