Strongholds Not Generating According to Wiki

According to the wiki, "In Bedrock Edition, 3 strongholds generate within a ring of radius between 640 and 1152 blocks. Other strongholds will generate randomly throughout the world."

On certain seeds, this is apparently not the case. Specifically, there are no strongholds generated within 1152 blocks (presumably of 0,0).

Repro Steps:
Generate a new world using any of the seeds listed below
Use the command /locate stronghold
Notice that the location is outside of the 1152 block outer limit

This is an issue on a world I created on Xbox on 1.2. Screenshot and other seeds besides first were all generated on Windows 10 1.7.1

Example Seeds:
-1009229477 (Tested on Windows 10 Edition 1.7.1 and Xbox One 1.2)
-1639517742
-523533971

My seed is: -1684892989 its an infinite world. Created in 1.8.0.

My nearest stronghold is more than 5000 blocks away. At something likeΒ  -1450 y -5150 ....
Very frustrating.

in newer version of mcbe the stronghold are now about 128

Β 1.8.0 is the latest version, and my nearest stronghold is more than 5000 blocks away, so the other 127 is also minimum 5000 blocks away.

For a few years now on the original Minecraft game (Java Edition) strongholds have been a MINIMUM of 1500 blocks away (from the worldspawn not x0 z0). Sounds like Bedrock is just catching up.

That "max of 1100 blocks away" is just out of date info.

The stronghold generation isn't always predictable. Also, remember that anyone can edit the wiki to say anything.

Addressing concerns:

First: I'm aware that anyone can edit the wiki. I'm also aware that developers are occasionally the ones who edit the wiki (for example on Bedrock spawning mechanics). In this case, the information on the wiki is so specific that it seems either an intent to deceive by creating false information (unlikely, I believe), or was placed by someone with intimate knowledge of the code.

Second: The problem of strongholds generating extremely far away from spawn should be considered a bug regardless of what the wiki says. This is a problem already addressed in the Java edition due to the incredible inconvenience and annoyance distant strongholds create. I'd be shocked to discover that no such attempt has been made on Bedrock to ensure close-to-spawn strongholds exist. I think this is indicative of a problem in generation of strongholds. In short: Fewer strongholds are actually generating than the developers must intend.

Third: This is not an issue on every seed! I tried to look for a pattern in which seeds have these issues, but I failed. In my (nβ‰ˆ12) testing, about 1/4 of the seeds failed to generate a close stronghold. This is frequent enough to merit concern, however. For example, here is a Reddit post showing two distinct users with the same issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/abzig6/infinite_worlds_leading_to_a_few_minor_problems/

The frustration players experience with this bug is clear.

This bug has been reported to our internal bug tracker for further testing.

If it is n a regular wiki, then it could not be true due to people just signing up and then saying wrong/false information but if it is the Minecraft wiki it probably is wrong information they aid wrong.

(/)Anyways I don't think it is really a bug because Minecraft's seed list is really outdated so find some on Mcpedl.com or any websites, For some reason seeds are generated differently on Betas and non-Betas

Thank you for your report!
