In Minecraft Windows 10 version playing on Oculus Rift. Version 1.1.5 today. I see the panda update splash screen. When I swim out of water in survival mode, I can somehow fly, it was repeatable. Made me motion sick due to the unexpected flying. Please fix this.

Hi, it wasn't the Gear VR version. Sorry I wasn't clear. It was Windows 10 with Oculus Rift. Launched from the Oculus store.
Just made an account to post about this issue! Started experiencing it tonight after the update, and reinstalling both the Oculus Store download and the Windows 10 app didn't solve the issue. I suspect that this bug has something to do with the way that you auto-jump out of water in this version; if you swim towards the edge of land with any momentum, you start to fly away. Exiting and reloading the world will make you either drop to the ground, or teleport directly to it. That's been the only inconsistent part of this.
Oddly, this doesn't seem to effect the regular "flat" version of the game; reloading the same world, swimming to land works just fine. Turning off "VR jumping" has no effect, either. Hopefully this gets fixed soon!
Ah. I didn't know this is an open ticket. I thought this was a private support ticket. The moderator moved this incorrectly to GearVR version, just want to re-iterate that this happens on Oculus Rift version.
Glad to hear others verified it is happening so it's not just my setup.
Oculus Rift version is the best VR Minecraft yet, with easy aiming with the touch controller. Hopefully this will be fixed before Quest version
Thanks for the in-depth explanation Auldrick,
Is anybody aware of workarounds to this issue on the current Build? Is there a way to revert to a client version where the issue isn't present?
You might want to review the comments above for a possible workaround; I've never experienced VR gear and some of it is vague to me.
No provision is made for reverting to an earlier version of the game, because of cross play and how it's divided into server and client pieces. In short, code written at one time can't know what to expect when interfacing with code written at a later time unless the interface is fixed and unchangeable. To enable that, the server would have to emulate an earlier version of itself, and what could it do with features that were added later and are used in the world? Make new items disappear from a chest when you open it? Then what do you do if the player tries to put something in what looks like an empty slot, but isn't really? This is just an example of the complexity that would result; there are thousands more that would have to be worked out to support multiple version cross play.
But what about using an earlier version in single player mode? Technically, it's possible with some minor issues, and if you had a copy of what was on the store earlier you could do it. But not all (if any) stores support downloading multiple versions, so there's not really a way to get such a copy. Java Edition's launcher can support multiple versions only because the "store" is Mojang's own server.
This case sounds like a great business case to pick up some company 'VR gear' as you've called it. We, the community, approve the expense. 😉
The Workarounds below were discussed in the comments, for those following the case. I haven't tested them yet:
Mouse input will end the levitation. (Wiggle Mouse)
Leave and Rejoining the current Realm/Game will place you on ground level under where you ended.
Play without tracked hand controllers, as these seem to be the source of the issue.
Play 'flat' Bedrock Edition instead of VR.
Bedrock version is 1.8, the version when panda starts in all platforms in December 2018. But oculus still shows 1.1.5, even I updated to the latest and can see the panda launch splash screen
