Water doesn't flow through Iron Bars, Fences, Etc.

Water can't flow through fences, iron bars, stairs, half slabs placed on ceilings, etc. but you can place water down on the block they're in, they just won't flow to the rest of the blocks, or through it. If you make a half slab tunnel, placing water on the ceiling of the half slab would just have the water float in mid-air above the half slab underneath. Hopefully this helps!

That's the way it's supposed to work. Those blocks can share space with a water source, and it can flow out of that block, but water can't flow into them.

Thank you for your report!
However, this issue is Working as Intended.

As commented above, these blocks are waterloggable, which means you can place them in a water source block or place water in/on them and it will flow out, but water will not flow into these blocks. You can simulate the effect of water flowing through them by waterlogging them, although the height of the water might not give the exact effect you would prefer in some cases.

In the case of your slab tunnels, the floating water occurs because the slab on the floor is not waterlogged. Again, you could place water on the lower slabs to achieve the effect you want.

There are even some blocks that water can flow through on bedrock edition, for example end rods, trip wire hook, repeators, comparators so I wonder why these blocks mentioned in the description are not blocks that water can flow through. On java edition there are no blocks that water can flow through.
