I've been playing on a Realm created by a friend 2 days ago, then suddenly I've become unable to join the Realm anymore.
After trying to join the server I get stuck on "building terrain" indefinitely.
I've tried:
-restarting the game
-updating Windows
-logging out my Xbox/Minecraft account
-joining on Phone Edition (Android) into the same Realm with the same account
-making my friend save the world offline and re-upload it
Nothing worked
Things that MAY have triggered the bug:
-Joining the Realm with the same account on another Windows 10 pc
-My laptop shutting down because of low battery during a login attempt
-The presence of a Nether portal in the world I'm trying to enter (I was reading about similar bugs caused by a nether portal)

I have same issue on xbox where the chunk were not loading so i left game and now cannot get back, stuck on building terrain. This is on Xbox bedrock edition and i m owner of realm.
Other people can join ok
Please advise

I have this problem too. I am using the IOS version and it mainly happens when I am the only one in the realm at the time.
This happened to me and my friend once when we both joined (not at the same time) and we both couldnt load a certain amount of area.
I usually wait it out when it happens but it is a bit of a pain especially when I have that bit of free time to do whatever haha

Exactly what happened to me on Xbox one just after leaving the nether back to the overworld.

Ive been having the same issue with two friends of mine. It occurred even when they were even near the unloaded chunks, not in them.

Same Issue here, I even tried creating a new realm and it gets stuck as well.
For anyone that has a world that won't load now - would you be able to upload a copy of it here please?
On Windows 10 you can use the Export world feature.
On Android or iOS you need to use a file explorer to navigate to Device storage > games > com.mojang > minecraftWorlds
On Xbox or Switch the only way is to upload it to a Realm, and then download the world on Windows 10 or Android/iOS.
If the world is larger than 10MB you can upload the world to OneDrive or a similar file sharing site, and then share the link.

Another one bites the dust, I just encountered this same bug. I was flying with Elytra close to base and noticed an unloaded section of map. I landed and waited patiently for the world to load but it did not, I logged out and tried logging back into the realm and the loading screen is stuck on"building terrain"
The host of the realm says he could see my body still in game and he sees the map is unloaded is well. He foolishly tries the same thing as me (logs out and tries logging back in) and now he's having the same issue. None of us can load the realm now.
notes: We're both xbox bedrock. Ive had similiar issues awhile back but in regards to the single player world not loading after traveling really far via nether portal and attempting to come back into the overworld in an unexplored location.
Thank you for your report!
We're now tracking this issue at MCPE-44815, so we will resolve and link this ticket as a duplicate, as the issue seems to be related to the Nether portal not loading in the player in the correct place.
If you would like to add a vote and any extra information to the main ticket it would be appreciated.

I've actually just run into this issue, except it activated when I went towards and unloaded part of the world, then tried to rejoin to see if the issues solved itself. Now I am just stuck on the building terrain screen whenever I join. I too have tried everything I could think of, and all of the above mentioned ways to try to get the game to load. I now won't be able to join the realm I guess.
