Excessive autosaving

Something's seriously wrong with the autosave logic. I expect it to maybe save once every 3-5 minutes. Instead, the game starts autosaving within 10-20 seconds of starting a session. Then, for good measure, it autosaves again 10-20 seconds after finishing that. I spend more time with the save icon on the screen without.

This exacerbates issues like MCPE-41479 because the game performs poorly while autosaving. Unfortunately since the game is always auto-saving that means the game is almost always performing poorly.

Maybe slow your roll and auto-save every few minutes, instead of aggressively autosaving the moment a block updates since the last auto-save.

If this "excessive autosaving" is getting annoying, you can turn off AutoSave in the settings menu. The game will then save only if you exit the world, but at least you won't have to deal with it for the time being...

I find that workaround unacceptable, especially on the heels of the Switch version being extraordinarily prone to crashing and freezing in the last update.

I play in very long sessions, and it takes too dang long to save and reload (3 minutes!) for me to be constantly doing that. If Minecraft can't get auto-save working I can just play "any other game".

@Owen Pellegrin: Bedrock Edition needs "autosave" to be able to be toggled on or off like console edition did. If you'd like you can suggest that on the feedback site. I have problems on my switch, plus I am able to play my worlds for hours with little to no problem at all...
