Disenchanting w/ Grindstone does not remove high XP cost for later repairs

Using the grindstone- I disenchanted an Iron Pickaxe that had Efficiency III and Unbreaking III- and then went to repair the now normal Iron Pickaxe, but the Anvil still required 31 XP to repair this item to full strength. Tried it again with a simpler Efficiency II Iron Pickaxe and that too required the same amount of XP to repair regardless of it's enchantment status being removed. It's also worth noting you can continuously place an Item in the grindstone left slots and play the grindstone noise by selecting the output item- despite no actual changes being made.

It seems the "Books not stacking after disenchanting" bug might be related- items are retaining their old "ID" or XP costs after disenchanting.

It also is on mcpe to I can't enchant my sword any more

Having the same issue on Windows XP edition. Had to throw away a disenchanted diamond sword because it was too expensive to enchant.

Note:
Windows XP is outdated. It is no longer supported. Trying to use Windows XP in 2019 is probably possible but most impossible.

Using Windows XP in 2019 is available only on virtual machines on the programs allowed, some are filtered in red that’s have viruses and spyware in them. Here’s a hint for a website: If the site has the tag /web/ in it, it has spyware on that site. Programs allowed:

  • ✔  Virtual Box by Oracle

  • ❌  VMWare Workstation (Has spyware on the program, and it is not accepted by me. Your identity could be stolen!)

If you are using Minecraft in XP and bought it, it’s fine with me. I just gave you a heads up on the information from Microsoft. For information, [click here|https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/windows/end-of-windows-xp-support]. Thanks for your interest in the problem and commenting. I am not a moderator, but I am helping you. Thanks for the comment on this issue I just saw!

Summary I been experiencing:

I have not been experiencing this bug. I am not sure if they are fixed yet. The bug is new to me, and I haven’t heard of it till today.

This is present in whole BE since I experiment this issue in Windows 10 as well.

Any news but for Windows 10? Recent hot fixes had been but none had attended this issue yet.

I am also experiencing this issue, tried to add a new enchanted book to a grinded pickaxe and it still said "too expensive". I duplicated with MCPE-82411 (sorry!)

You can try to enchant anything on creative mode.

The same issure always appears.

After being resolved, now came back affecting 1.16.210. Should be reopened.

I attempted to re-enchant a pair of netherite boots which enchants were a mess (it had all Mending I, Depth Strider III, Thorns III, Unbreaking III, Projectile Protection IV and Feather Falling IV, but I wanted to add Soulspeed III but it was "Too expensive!". So I went to the grindstone and clean them up, enchant them at the enchanting table obtaining Unbreaking III, then I wnet to the anvil and when I putted both netherite boots and Mending I book the anvil UI displayed 33 EXP cost even when I washed it at the grindstone; even placing the other caped level books the prompt was "Too expensive!".

Something is wrong again.

The regression of this bug since 1.16.100 is tracked at MCPE-107211.
