Ok seems to affect old villagers converting to new mechanics. This is being played on realms 1.11.
First day put composter and bed in existing wheat, carrot and potato farms. At first villagers 3 of 4 converted to farmer. 4th one turned to cleric i think. The brewing station is several blocks away on x,z and 30 or 40 blocks on the y. Through solid blocks. Then game crashed. Had to restore from save. Will not connect with composter.
Put composters in upper iron farm around y 120. Some changed. Some 60 to 80 blocks on y turned. Again no visual possible and no path to composter.
Creating new trading area to try and salvage old villagers. Have moved a few. They will not connect with composter even if standing in it. And will not sleep in the only bed available to them.
Tried this with same world local. In creative killed off old villagers for the most part. Spawned new ones with eggs. Seems better but close to half will not use a open bed they can reach.

Ok realms was acting up friday. Could play 15 to 20 min. Then crippling lag. Finally dl game to work on getting trading and iron farm working. Was unable to upload game as usual. Been an issue since the world reached 600mb. Its now around 900mb.
So spent today again doing this work. Killed all my old villagers off except 2 for breeding. They would not. So captured 2 z villagers and cured them. Well 3 but one would not work. Got them breeding. So far at least one captured and new one will lock on to work station. The new one will not lock on to bed in trading area. It is a 4 x 4 area. But if i break thatbed and put it on outside of 4x4 with a fence inbetween bingo it locks on.
I just have to ask. When on ps4 they had a classic crafting option in menu. Can we get a classic villager button. This is sh*t. I have spent 4 days trying to deal with this fracking system. Basically trying to fix something that was working 4 days ago. Or at least can we sh*t can the beds and go back to doors. And find a better and easier way to link villagers?
I mean it should not be this hard to get them working.
Resolving as a duplicate of MCPE-45034 - the fix coming up should mean that existing villagers keep their professions.
Ok as of 1.11.1 if i open a old copy local all villagers keep professions. The only ones i care about are librarians and maybe smiths. I had a sweet collection of lib, tool and weapon villagers.
The librarians all lost the third ench book. Not sure if they will sleep in bed.
But on realm. All old villagers that lost profession seem to be locked as well. Seems to be same for old ones that took a trade. They will not seem to take a bed. The 2 i did manage to get working as farmers seem fine. I was killing off any that would not work. Managed to get 2 of 15 working.
I can't speak for others. But since i lost a third of my books. I am ok with losing my old villagers and starting over. Since i lost several key books and don't want to destroy the last 2 days of builds.
I can't say yet about the new villagers yet. But wanted to update after 11.1
