So I was testing the new village mechanics and I discovered that when you eliminate all peasants from a village the cat spawn continues (even if you later destroy all the beds) but if all the beds are destroyed before the peasants are eliminated Cats stop spawning. I do not think this is intended to happen. Hope you guys fix it 🙂
"How to reproduce"
1) place 4 beds and spawn a villager
2) kill the villager
3)destroy the beds
(Cats continue to spawn)

If it does not work in a small scale try using more villagers and more beds and killing the villagers with /kill @e this seems to work all the times while in a smaller scale it only works sometimes

Sorry I misread. But what I say is still true, it might just seem like that more cats are spawning but they really are not.
Is this still an issue in the latest version?
I was not able to reproduce in 1.14.60. Is it possible that cats were spawning because you had other beds or another village nearby? There was a bug that could cause infinite cat spawning, tracked at MCPE-60331, but it required 36 unoccupied beds.

I believe this is WAI (working as intended.) The Gamepedia article states, "Cats typically spawn upon generation wandering around in villages as strays." Tell me if I am wrong. Glad I could help! 😃
