Yes I do believe this is still an issue however I don't think that it is as big of an issue as before since you have to be kind of far away from the campfire to even notice it now
and the steps reproduced is literally as the symbol is placing down a campfire and moving farther and farther away from it until you see a black border surrounding the fire texture my observed results were exactly as it seems I saw a black border however I was really far away. The expected results was the black border however it didn't expect it to be visible at such a far distance

After consideration, the issue is being closed as Won't Fix.
Please note that this is not the same as Working as Intended, as this bug report correctly describes behavior in the game that might not be the intended or desirable behavior, but it will not be fixed right now. Sometimes, this is because the issue reported is minor and/or impossible to change without large architectural changes to the code base.
