In-app purchase of a texture pack is not going through

I have purchased a texture pack inside the game in my daughter's iPad.

We have set up her account using Family Sharing, being the first purchase iOS requested to verify the purchase which was successfully done and the charge of $5.99 has gone through our card/bank account.

Upon returning into the Minecraft app, the texture pack is not available. Attempting to purchase it, Apple's systems detects that the item has already been purchased and will be restored for free. However the Minecraft app doesn't recognize this and it just stays with the loading graphics advising that "this shouldn't take long" (apparently indefinitely).

FYI, after various attempts closing the app and opening again and re-trying to purchase without any luck, we were able to get the purchase through by doing the following:

  • Tap to purchase via coins instead of $5.99 button (not enough coins)

  • The Minecraft app prompted to purchase more coins

  • Then it detected that there was an "incomplete purchase" and whether I wanted to complete/resume the purcahse

  • Tap yes (of course) and voila, the texture pack was made available and downloaded (happy child = happy parents)

Hope this helps the developers find the bug and fix it so it doesn't inconvenience other users.

Added the steps above of how it was resolved in case another parent/user has the same issue, so they're able to get it sorted easily.
