I have the latest updated ps4 bedrock version of minecraft and still my villagers disappear whenever I am in radius. This happened before the new update and I have conducted experiments and blocked off villagers in various situations and have found that whenever I am within radius of the villager they eventually disappear and do not spawn. How to fix this?
I have also checked chunk borders and find that this makes no difference they still despawn.
I have cured zombie villagers and they still despawn

same here! but im left with 3 villagers 😞

Affects 1.16.0.60, this happened to 6 VILLAGERS in my world.
Are you able to reproduce this if the game is in Peaceful? (to rule out the villagers being killed by hostile mobs.)
Are there any specific scenarios or world where this is happening that might help to reproduce the issue?

@Mega_Spud The Villagers disappear when they are on a chunk border, I downloaded a texture that shows the chunks of the world and the place where the Villagers disappear in my world has a chunk border.
friend of mine also confirmed that they disappear at the edges of chunks, and has several videos on YouTube more or less about it:

In my world in the most recent beta version (1.16.0.61) Villagers who are not on the edge of chunks do not disappear. Only those around the edges of chunks disappear, I think this happens with most entities in the game, the Funnel Cart is one of them.

I have repeatedly put the game in and out of peaceful mode, I have moved villagers in various areas across my world, confined them into boxes/houses of all types. Even built walls around villages in and out of peaceful fully lit and have found one common error and that is when I am within radius they just disappear sometimes when I sleep in bed and sometimes I have just turned my back to turn around and they have disappeared. I am not finding any other mobs disappear just villagers.

Hi Spud,
Hope you're doing well. Lori said that you were 'aware of me' which kinda spooked me out (more now I see who you are) but hi anyways. I have some context, emotion and observations for you that I hope will help get this issue sorted.
I can confirm that this has happened three times now in the past couple of months, playing on server versions 1.14 and now on 1.16 (aternos). I've lost awesome sharpness 4 , unbreaking 3 and now a very cheap mending villager (just so you get a picture of how bad this is) and the mending villager despawned on the very day that I opened my shop to start selling books (due to a bulk order for mending).
Okay, now that the background is out of the way, I must say that I did suspect that there was some pruning cap or something, as a few hours before I returned to the village, another team managed to also get a (more expensive) mending villager. Note that in between this time, I had visited the 'village' (of 11 villagers), bought 2 mending books and then gone off to build by shop and visited the nether a couple of times before returning.
There is no way for my issue to be attributable to hostile mobs as the area (enclosed area in a ravine, slabbed ceiling and floor and sealed walls - only access is bubble column) is too well lit for that and I have stayed there for minecraft months (so regional difficulty not an issue) to test whether there are any hostile spawns.
There has been a long time between the previous incidents and this one (approx 4 real weeks playing daily - except sundays).
But yes, the other team's got their mending villager from a naturally spawned or bred villager that was repeatedly reassigned a workstation to get the desired trade. That was the same method that I used but using a different type of source villager.
I have read through the other incidents and thought that this additional factor might help you guys get closer to the issue.

My villagers have despawned too, all but one was left when I came back. I have not traded with any by then because I was still setting up the building which they would be able to safely live in. Everything was well lit, and I had iron doors so they couldn’t escape. Despite this, when I came back from my base which is around 300 blocks away, they were gone, all but one.
That was the first incidence, and some time after I had repopulated a bit. The second victim would be my master level farmer who had been cured. This villager, out of the four that was there, disappeared. I had finished the building, and there were absolutely no way for a villager to get out or die there.
I think this bug may also have been likelier to occur because of my frequent crashes or laggy experiences, my device is a IPad Air 2, used for about 3 something years and it had and still has about 2.1GB of storage left.
This is my experience, thank you for reading. Edit: I played on the newest versions as of this time.
Edit 2: two more Diamond level villagers have despawned to this old, old bug... Happened after I crashed, again. You put work into levelling and capturing, and poof. Just like that, your work is gone.

This is happening to me too, all but 4 non-nitwit villagers despawn if I stay in a village for too long.
