[MCPE-74221] When a pillager patrol captain is killed, nearby pillager can pick up banner but doesn't become the next captain

Verification Builds:
1.16.0.58 Beta
Summary:
In 1.16.0.51 pillager can pickup illager banner but doesn't become patrol captain. In Minecraft Wiki page said when a captain is killed, nearby pillagers now rush toward the illager banner to pick it up and become the next captain.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Find pillager outpost or patrol then find the patrol captain.
2.When a patrol captain is killed, nearby pillagers can pick up illager banner and become the next captain.
3.any nearby illagers can pickup illager banner.
Observed Results:
When patrol captain is killed, nearby pillagers can pickup illager banner but doesn't become the next captain.
Expected results:
When patrol captain is killed, nearby pillagers can pickup illager banner and become next captain. Killing that captain can spawn in a raid.

@[Helper] LateLag i don't won't to report this issue.one week ago i was seeing Minecraft wiki page to now about Minecraft bedrock i was search Pillager than i go to history then i see 1.16.0.51 pillager can now pickup illager banner think lets search raid captain then i see 1.16.0.51 When a raid captain is killed,nearby pillagers can pickup illager banner and become next raid captain.but it doesn't work properly.This is wiki-parity not java-parity.

I think he is right Wiki does said but wiki only said pillagers can pickup illager banner not said illager can pickup illager.

Bedrock does not have raid captains. Since this is a parity difference from before the Buzzy Bees update, it is not a valid issue for the bug tracker. This was already raise with MCPE-52816, so I am requesting this ticket be resolved as a duplicate.

But why do they pick the banners up then? They don’t become a raid captain when they do, making the feature useless. Definitely not a duplicate.

Idk why pillagers pick up banners now, but in any case raid captains don’t exist, and that was the basis for resolving MCPE-52816 as “invalid.” If raid captains did exist but just weren’t spawning, then MCPE-52816 would have been a valid bug report.

Another helper suggested to me that this report might be confusing raid captains with patrol captains. It may also be conflating the bad omen effect with the raid spawn event. If I can confirm how Mojang is reading it, I’ll update the language.

Update: Mojang is indeed tracking this report as being about the fact that raid waves do not have captains, despite it not meeting the criteria for feature parity bug reports.

This is not parity request this is a bug. You can see your self. Find pillager outpost or patrol then find the captain kill the captain nearby pillager will pickup the banner but doesn't become pillager/raid captain i don't know why.

Raid captain doesn't spawn in raid i know but i write pillager captain then i saw the wiki page. It said raid captain then I thought pillagar captain name is wrong then i fixed the name but why it say raid captain? pillager captain doesn't spawn in a raid.Sorry for saying raid captain it was patrol captain and outpost captain.

There is three issue about this

1.Pillager can pickup illager then why vindicator and evokar can't pickup illager banner?

2.Pillager pickup entire stack of illager banner MCPE-80638

3.If you throw illager banner the pillager will pick it up.why if you throw it they will pick it up.it should like when raid captain is killed it will drop illager banner then nearby pillager will pick it up.

Lots of mobs can pick up items in 1.16, and I’ve seen skeletons with illager banners. Patrol captains are created by a spawn event, not as a result of holding an item.

The code for the Raid Captain was already present but for some reason, the devs decided not to fully integrate them in the game unlike the Patrol Captain and Outpost Captain which made it in-game and until now Raid Captains remained unused
