Why is fire having a hitbox an expected behavior? “Because it does in Java” is not a convincing reason. I’ve always thought of fire as more of a state and a particle effect.

Moreover, I can’t think of any gameplay impact this issue would have. So, how is this even a bug?

Idk if this is true, but for my understanding with the photos; their seems to be no outline for the fire. The fire does have a hitbox, but has no outline around it.

The hitbox makes it easier for new people to understand where they have to aim to break the fire. Without the hitbox it is harder to break it. The way that you currently break it and used to break it on java is by aiming at the side of the block that the fire is. For example if fire is at the side of a block, you need to aim at that side of the block to break it, this makes it harder to break the fire if the block has a smaller hitbox. For example if the fire is at a fence, it may be harder to break it, if you don't know how to do that.

As far as I know, a parity issue that meets these 3 conditions mentioned on https://www.reddit.com/r/Mojira/comments/g9rjfh/from_now_on_well_accept_bug_reports_about_certain/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share, it is valid on the bug tracker, even if it doesn't negatively affect the game.

If Java has a certain behavior and Bedrock doesn't then it's a parity issue. Unless there's a good reason for them being different, either they should add the visible hitbox to Bedrock or remove it from Java. Whether or not there's a gameplay impact from this should only affect where it's put in the dev's priority list (of course this specific issue would be quite low on it) but it should definitely be fixed eventually
