I simply executed the command "/weather thunder". No rain appeared, but I could hear thunder. I saw a couple creepers and decided to test channeling. It worked to generate a super charged creeper, but lit on fire. Sadly the poor creeper died which would not normally happen in the rain. I tried using Riptide in this rain-less storm and it did not work.

The biome was Savannah/desert.

When I run deeper into the biome it does start raining. In general, I have found that this happens in 1.15 as well. I will be using Riptide and elytra while flying through the sky in the rain and all of the sudden the rain stops and seconds later starts. Generally in desert and savannah. That phenomenon now make sense.

I live in a desert IRL (actually more like the red mesa biome) where it rains during monsoon season, so I never really thought about other deserts that don't have rain. Brain fart π. I guess I have also never tried to get a super charged creeper to spawn in the desert or savanah before. Now I am going to go test the red mesa biome and rain π.
That is anΒ intended feature. It's not supposed to rain in deserts, mesa and savannah biomes in minecraft

It's not supposed to rain in deserts,Β but it should in savannas as far as I know. If you go deeper into the biome, does it start raining?
