Moto G cannot be used as a Local Multiplayer Server

Moto G phone will not work as a MCPE server.
All other devices on our network (LG Android Phone, iPod touch, Kindle Fire Tablet all running 10.5 as well) are able to host and receive connections.
When the Moto G world is active, no other devices are able to see it in the world list.
Adding an external world using it's local IP address and the standard port will not allow a connection to it either.

I have three Moto g devices and i have had the same experience. I had one xt1032 and i thought it was just a fluke, but I recently bought 2 more Moto G's xt1028 just so my kids could all play Minecraft and i experienced the same behavior. I believe this is somehow network related. I have tried it on 3 different WIFI routers, and hot spots hosted by 2 different android devices (using a mix of security protocols and even no security). The only why to get a Moto g to host is if one of the Moto G devices is running a Hotspost, then they all can host.

Does this still apply in 0.11.1?

I could not make it work either

If you have 0.12.1 beta, does it work now?

I was able to resolve this with my Moto Gs by changing my router to use WPA2/TKIP or WPA2/AES instead of WPA2/TKIP+AES. It doesn't seem to like the mixed capable router.
v 0.12.1 alpha

Cleaning up all old issues, please reply if still affects 0.12.x

This issue is still present for me on both a Moto G1 and a Moto G3, now running 0.13.1

Just got new moto e 4gs for the kids. I experience the issue on these
phones as well. I can add the players phone IP address in directly to
connect but it does not broadcast the game unless the network is being
hosted by one of the moto phones. They are running android 5.1. I tried
all the wireless network security protocols my router supports.
