Air blocks connecting corridors to dirt rooms (mineshafts) spawn at the incorrect y-axis

Air pockets connecting corridors to the central (dirt) room of abandoned mineshafts and gold mines are spawned at the wrong y-axis (above and below, respectively). In some extreme cases, this can result in any tunnels being completely seperated from the central room by blocks.
When spawned in water bodies they will not update, allowing the player to easily locate them. Seeds showing this occurence are provided in the comment section.

Illidicia

They can occur in any seed. The images shown are using my test seed 'shroomzy' at different locations. I have yet to find a seed generating them near enough to the spawn to show it as an example.

I am sorry I can't reproduce this bug.

Alex, if you cannot reproduce it, then provide information on how you tested this bug, and on your device model and operating system. Please do not resolve issues without waiting for the community consensus, as others may be able to reproduce them on their devices.
I have reproduced this bug successfully using 0.9.5 & 0.10.4 on iPhone 6 plus (iOS 8.2), iPhone 4s (iOS 8.1.1), iPad Air (iOS 8.1.1), & iPad Mini (iOS 8.1.2).

Sorry about that. I'm on a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Android 4.4.2. I cannot reproduce this bug currently in 0.10.5. It might have been fixed for 0.10.5 but 0.10.4 is currently for IOS devices.

Confirmed and reproducable on MCPE 0.10.5, android 4.4.2 seed: 1427324280 infinite creative.

How to find the air blocks in this seed:

When you spawn, do not turn. Fly perfectly straight in the direction you are facing until a bit past noon, maybe 3/4 of your first day following the "markers" below. How long it takes to get there depends on your device and your graphics setting. I'm on a Samsung Galaxy S4 with fancy graphics and max draw distance. You may need max draw distance to see all the markers I mention below.

You will go over the following "markers" in order:

  1. a village,

  2. some swamp biome, mostly on your right,

  3. a lot of open water

  4. about ten sandy islands (just past the islands you may notice two 1x1 air blocks close together submerged a few blocks under water on your right, but don't deviate from your path, there's more coming),

  5. more open water,

  6. an island on your left with some oak trees, and finally

  7. you will reach a forest biome (you'll see spruce trees for the first time).

As you go over the spruce forest, watch left for a sand island just off the left shoreline (see island.png). There are two sand islands close together, the one in the picture is the one you want. It is the second one, but you may see it first depending on the height you flew at because the first one may have been obscured by the spruce forest.

Fly over to the end of the island that is closest to the direction you were travelling and observe the water facing the direction you have been traveling. You will see two 2x1 air blocks and a 2x2 air block submerged a few blocks underwater. A bit deeper and abutting the end of the island, you will see another airblock including and some lava. (see airblocks.png and airblocks_circled.png).

From above water the submerged airblocks appear as lighter colored areas. From underwater they appear as darker colored areas.

If you prefer, just watch this really poor quality 5 minute boring youtube video I made of me following the instructions above. Before you ask, I filmed it with an external camera to keep MCPE vanilla.

Thanks for the input, Russell. However, I have found a seed generating them relatively near to the spawn, as shown in the attached images. The air blocks are located directly beneath the glowstone spires. The seed is 1425694139

I couldn't reproduce this with the seed given above.

If this still affects 0.16.0, could you please add seeds and coordinates of the places it affects (use /tp @p ~ ~ ~ to get coords)
