Netherite Tools Burn in Lava in Realms and Servers

I have watched this happen, netherite burns on realms.

I own a 10 player bedrock realm on switch. My boyfriend (on PC W10) and I were mining in the nether and I died with netherite tools on me. Both burned in the lava. My boyfriend left and tried it in a private world, the tools didn't burn there. He came back on the realm and sacrificed the one netherite tool he had left and it did indeed burn during our experiment. The bug seems like it's only on realms, I hope that this gets fixed soon!

Today I observed netherite tools and armor burn in lava when a player was pushed into lava on my SMP server. I am running Bedrock Dedicated Server for Windows, clients are Windows 10. The difficulty is set to hard.

I tested to confirm, and almost all netherite-related items did burn immediately when dropped in lava, either by player death or intentional drop. All difficulty levels yielded the same results. This includes:

• All netherite tools

• All netherite armor

• Netherite ingots

• Netherite scrap

• Ancient debris

Interestingly, the Netherite Block did NOT burn in either test, but instead exhibited the expected behavior of bouncing on lava until it came to rest on a non-lava block.

In a singleplayer world (where no netherite items will burn) You can see the bouncing apply to all netherite items. Not sure if it is a bug, as it was in most of the 1.16 betas.

Just to clarify: All items are supposed to be destroyed by cactus. A unique property of netherite/ancient debris is its ability to not burn (unlike every other item). It is supposed to float in lava, but this mechanic is not working on Realms and servers.

this happend to me on single player. I died in lava and my netherite chestplate burned.

Can confirm, only burns on realms in lava and fire. Single player is unaffected. Thanks for the netherite texture pack devs. Do you guys even write tests for your code? Wtf

Brady Fetting, the devs work their hardest, cut them some slack! you have to remember that they did a great job unloading so many features so quickly across multiple platforms, especially since minecraft is such a complicated game. after all, this is why there is a place to report bugs. thanks devs for making this update possible!
