[MCPE-8822] Crash on Startup (iPod Touch 4 and iPhone 4)

having downloaded version 0.11.1 (update) which not even exists on the dropdown box of this form ??? on June 5th. after installation when i start minecraft the mojang logo gets displayed and after about 10-15 secs nothing happened and then it closes the game again, without displaying any error message or whatsoever. It just hasnt done anything except displaying the logo. Hope to receive help soon.

This has been reported at so many places I've lost track and I have no idea which is the original anymore. I wish Mojang would do something about this, but no mod has shown any interest in it at all. I'm getting pretty angry about this, as this is now a waste of $7 that I spent.

Just look for as many as you can and vote.
Also, I think there are actually 2 separate issues: some people say it crashes immediately, some say it shows the Mojang logo for 30 seconds then crashes.

Guess the different reports on when the crash happens is just due to undifferentiated reporting. So probably it is indeed just one issue.

o.11.1 crashes upon load using my son's iPad 1. It works fine if you disable WiFi, but there are obvious limitations to this solution. There are many parents like myself who've given old iPads to their kids so they play games like Minecraft PE. It's fair enough if you want to version out of old hardware and iOS versions, but please make your customers know about this in advance, before they update to an unusable version. You should also provide a downgrade. There are thousands of children in the world whining and crying right now because your update doesn't work on 4 year old iOS platforms. Please let us know if or when we can expect a fix.

iTunes gave me a store credit today for the purchase price of Minecraft PE and a rep named Janice told me she would be "investigating" the incompatibility issue. Also, user Cruz Elmer, if you updated your iTunes to version 0.11.1 you are "screwed" because iTunes only offers the most up to date version for download, and since Mojang submitted this version as "compatible" with iOS 5.1.1 devices, once its in your iTunes you cannot roll it back. However, if you only updated you iDevice via wifi and have not updated your iTunes, you can sync the working version 0.10.4 from your iTunes to your iDevice and restore your game fun!

I'm having the same problem when updated mine craft to v 0.11.1 in iPad 1 v 5.1.1 and iPod iOS v 6.1.6, with wifi turned on and off. Both presents Mojang screen, and after some seconds come back to default screen. When double click main button, I can seen the mine craft icon, as running application. However, if I click on it, it happens again the Mojang screen for some seconds, and over again.

Delete and and reinstall helps ?
They cant loose all worlds already built! Refund is not an option.

Same issue on my IPod touch with IOS 6.1.6. After June 5th update (0.11.1), the game just does open anymore. Mojang logo then nothing. Go back to default screen. I tried turning off WiFi but same result. I also tried deleting the game, shutdown, restart IPod and reinstall Minecraft PE but still does not work. Already 1 month since the purchased game does not work anymore... Hope the fix will be available soon...

The same propblema occurred when installed in the iphone 4. When I try to open the game is the logo of Majong and then closes the game. I paid $ 6.99 and I want a solution.

Jepp - also my suns IPOD Touch 4 is affected... App starts and stops again after approx. 10 seconds
by now Apple has refunded the price but of course my son would like to see the app working 🙂

People v12.1 was released. Tested successfully in iPod and iPad.

Fellows I should have recorded the tension during the update process and the happiness of my two girls (8 and 4) after the game came to live again, with the old worlds, enjoying the new features. Long days of darkness, but welcome sun again!
