My villagers seem to not be breeding. Even trying to encourage breeding by giving them 3 bread, 12 carrots, 12 potatoes, or 12 beetroots They don’t seem to do anything. They’ll get the hearts over their heads as if they’re going to but nothing happens. I’m not sure if this is a bug or if there’s something I might be doing wrong.

@GoldenHelmet yes both villagers will have the hearts and are facing each other but no baby villagers appear.
They do not make babies when you're watching them, they will only show hearts. I recently made an iron farm and bred 2 villagers into 10 villagers.
Because of the portuguese translation I thought mob griefing was related only to creeper explosions, but I guess that was the problem. Once I changed it, they started working. Thank you a lot
Ah yes, “griefing” is not a great name in English either. It includes any mob picking up items. With villagers this is what you want them to do!
"Griefing" is a back formation from "griefer", which (in English, at least) is gamer slang for a player who joins a multiplayer server for the sole purpose of annoying other players. In Minecraft, the griefers are the mobs who damage the things you build or create, mostly in fairly trivial ways. I didn't realize the creeper was considered a griefer. Does it not explode when mob griefing is turned off?
Resolved as Cannot Reproduce because the original reporter has not responded to a question but other people have, and they have confirmed that the problem was with the world settings.
When you see the hearts, is it 2 villagers facing each other that have hearts or just one?
