PlayStation GUI scale modifier resetting after restarting game

May affect both disc and downloaded (Experiencing on disc)

On each session of playing Minecraft (Session as in opening Minecraft after it has been closed), the GUI Scale Modifier resets to -2 despite having it set to 0. And usually shows it is set to 0 when in actuality is at -2.
There is a simple temporary fix by adjusting the slider off of 0 and back, but as said, the setting resets after closing and opening a new session.

In the three following images, one image shows the slider at 0, with proper scaling. Another image shows the slider at -2, with proper scaling. And lastly, the slider set to 0, not proper scaling, after closing and opening a new session. (Images may not be in said order)

Hello, this scaling problem is still an issue on Minecraft PS4.

This problem is quite easy to reproduce.
1. set your GUI scale to anything you want (though for the sake of demonstration it tends to work best on -3 or -1)
2. Close Minecraft and reopen it
3. Upon re-entering you should notice that the GUI is set to -2 even though you set it to something else. you can slide the GUI scale to -2 and the scale will remain the same.

Like the reporter said it can be fixed by moving the scale back forth to reset it but it's quite an annoying inconvenience. The GUI scale should stay the same when you re-enter the game and not set itself to -2.

If it helps I play the game on a 4K TV so it might be an issue with resolution but I'm not sure. hope this helps.

Yeah on PS5 this issue is still a thing so it's definitely still relevant and in need of fixing. It hurts my eyes to try and see the tiny interfacing, otherwise I'd just deal with it.

As of the release of Caves and Cliffs Part II, this bug remains unresolved.

Reopening as this is still an issue according to MCPE-183517.

This issue is still unresolved even with PlayStation version 1.21.1. I hope it will be fixed soon.

Confirmed on PS5 game version 1.21.50. Can reproduce using exact same steps as OP. Happens every time I start my game, the GUI scale resets to -2 despite saying 0 in the settings. Thought it would be fixed when the native PS5 version was released, but it's not. I have a disc of the original "Minecraft Playstation 4" edition and play the PS5 bedrock edition via a free upgrade.

I can't reproduce this as of the latest update with Vibrant Visuals. The game now starts on 0 GUI scale as expected on PS5. Perhaps there was a silent or indirect fix?
