Item alignment not working

When using a water stream and chests\ender chests\cake to align items to flow down ice path next to hoppers, the items are not aligning close enough for the hoppers to pick them up.  This works in my creative world and my survival world single player but is not working on my bedrock realm.

Actual Behavior: Items flowing down the water stream over packed ice make a 90 degree turn, running in to a double chest to align the items against the far wall.  As the items continue to flow down the ice path\water stream with hoppers next to it, the hoppers are not picking the items up and they just float right past.

Expected behavior: Items flowing down the water stream over packed ice make a 90 degree turn, running in to a double chest to align the items against the far wall.  As the items continue to flow down the ice path\water stream with hoppers next to it, the hoppers should suck the items up as they are riding on the edge of the ice and hopper both.

This has been tested with the same results using a double chest, 2 ender chests and 2 cakes.

Hi George,

I use this design in both Singleplayer and BDS (which should emulate a realm) and while I occasionally see items move too quickly over the first couple of hoppers to be collected the technique does work.

Are you able to provide screenshots or a world download that demonstrates the issue?

I am on console so I cannot do a world download but, if you would like, I can arrange a realm invite so you can see the issue in action.  I had been using this prior to the 1.16 update with no issues and have tested it in single player as of this morning and it works fine.  The only place I am seeing it broken is in my realm.  I have attempted the alignment facing each of the cardinal directions to see if that made any difference and it has not.

Just in case a realm invite is not an option for you, I am going to attempt to get a video either via xbox or using my phone to submit.

I've managed to reproduce this problem on a realm and in Singleplayer, but its still working on my server which is really strange. Will see if I can narrow it down at all.

Edit: No need for invite, have repro'd 🙂

It looks to be directional (and not limited to Realms). Can you see if the below is the same for you?

I could have sworn I tested this in all the cardinal directions so I went back to test again after seeing your image and am seeing the same behavior that you are.  The top option, the one that fails, is the one I was trying to use for my farm that started my bug report.  Additionally, if I switch the failed option to push items left after alignment, instead of right, I still see the same failure.

Some additional information for you.  It seems to be specific to the east\west axis, no matter which way the items are flowing.  It the items are flowing either east -> west or west -> east with hoppers to the north, the problem exists.  If the hoppers are to the south of the water flow, the problem does not happen.  You can see this in the xbox capture I took while holding a locator map to determine direction.  Link to the capture stored on my one drive here as it is too large to upload: https://1drv.ms/v/s!AjfuKwvMMdCpj3Un8354IPHYoDGM?e=gVbOes

Just curious, since Mod IkonicEcho was able to reproduce the issue, why it is listed as plausible as opposed to confirmed?

Hey George, thanks for following up with this ticket with additional information. I'm not sure why Ionic didn't confirm it. We've had some other reports come in on it, and one of them, MCPE-94491 has received a ton of votes due to being covered by SilentWisperer in his bugrock youtube series. Since that ticket has more votes, we're going to resolve this one as a duplicate. Please add your vote and any missing information to the new parent ticket.

Forward duplicating as the other one has more info

I've taken another look at the video linked in the comment from July 20 after resolving MCPE-94491. It looks like this may have been a chunk border issue all along, as the hoppers and ice in the video appear to be along chunk borders at Y = -1280 to -1281 and Y = - 1264 to Y = -1265. The chunk border collection problem is tracked at MCPE-99462.
