Whenever I place a torch under a stack of sand in order to break it all, the first couple pieces drop and the rest just disappear - very annoying if you need a lot of sand for something

It only seems to be happening on a multiplayer server I play on, and not just when a torch is placed - any time a block of sand is broken at the bottom of a tower of it, several disappear when falling.
MCPE-20109 reports a similar bug that may have the same root cause.
MCPE-40404 reports stacked blocks of concrete powder drop some blocks as items when the stack falls after the bottom block is broken, which is similar behavior.
Cannot confirm. I was not able to reproduce this using sand falling on a torch in Windows 10. I placed 50 sand blocks in a stack with a solid block below it and a torch below that. All 50 broke and were left as items.
Is this still happening?
I am having a similar issue with gravel. When I put down a torch to break the gravel I will see that there are 7 or 8 and it only drops 3 or so.
Minecraft Bedrock played in realms on a computer desktop.
