Automatic backups are not being taken as frequently as in the past. So infrequently that major progress loss can occur if one needs to be restored. I noticed this today (11/30/2025) when I went to restore a backup from the night before to recover a loss from another bug, and the most recent backup was from 4 days ago. November 26th was the first time I was on the realm since it updated to 1.21.124, but based on my available backups, this has been a problem for a while. I have been on the realm each of the last four days, so there should’ve been at least one backup from each day. Additionally, all my recent backups state “Version Unknown”. The last backup to report a version was 1.21.100.7.

I am having an issue with realms as well. Mine is not backing up and saved data at all. It is obviously saving things, as when we log in again our progress has been saved, but I cannot download the worlds from the realm to make a backup and there is a generic “there was an issue” when looking at the saves/backups menu in realm settings. Very scary as I can’t backup my worlds in case something corrupts or happens with my realm.
I’m having the same problem. Started a new realm for 2 players. Now other players want to join aswell so I have to make a new realm for more players, since you can’t upgrade it from 2 to 10 players. The server/world is like 7 days old or something and the last back-up was on 1-12 (it made like 5 backups that day), but the days after that not a single new backup has been made. Even the old backup list is shrinking down in size. I’ve tried already activating another world in the realm, closing the realm and making certain players next to me (the owner join) but no luck. Still no new backup. We don’t want to reroll back the last 2 days, since some players made quite the progression on their base. If we leave the game, it keeps the progress we made with every day, but just no new back-ups…
Our server crashed after breaking a stack of scaffolding (unplayably laggy and unable to interact with the environment), We logged out ~30 seconds and logged back in to be set back ~45mins to 1 hour ish.
Both issues sucked greatly… (un)Fun fact, this reset the loot from the mincart chests. An enchanting book was in there but not the same one (with fortune II).
