[REALMS-1511] Operator privileges stop working

I am an operator in a friend's realm, and run a realm myself. In both cases and across several maps, giving a member operator privileges in settings does not give them privileges in game.

As of yesterday I had privileges as I am meant to, today I did not, no settings were changed. Only the host has privileges.

Having the same issue here ... which is doubly troubling as my builder cannot work as we construct our realm for our Mixer followers. We've tried to deop then op both while the player is off and on the server.
Next, I will remove the account altogether to see if he can rejoin and be reop'd.
Hoping this will be fixed soon!

Same issue here, 3 of us were OP in a busy realm - we had our powers 3-4 hours ago, but now do not. Tried closing & restarting realm, game shows we all have crowns by our names, but no OP status in-game, no commands work other than basic non-OP commands. As I say, we're a busy realm and we need our OP abilities to help run things.

I'm also affected. I am an operator in two realms. No longer have operator permissions but both owner says I should have operator.

As a temporary workaround the Realm owner can still run commands, and they can also set players to creative etc if necessary.

A fix is under way. Very sorry for the inconvenience, as Mega_Spud noted, you can temporarily work around this by using commands to op and deop players as necessary.

Ah, the "op" command doesn't is not an option. It doesn't show up in the list, or didn't last time I checked.

I can also confirm the following:

Remove and re-add members is not a work around

Crown/uncrown members in list is not a work around

Reloading a saved world is not a work around

Rebooting devices is not a work around

Reloading the app is not a work around

changing game modes is possible, but it's not really a substitute for op status

I can also confirm that realms are not working correctly. The owner of the realm has privy but members do not even though they have operator. Also in chat bar only the keyboard icon shows up. not the / so you cannot use commands to help get around it. Agree with Ed I have also tried all these things to fix to no avail and I have several realms and a deadline for a map on Friday in which none of my builders can help as no privs. Do we have a timescale for fixing this issue at all?

Ed is correct, the op and deop commands are listed on some sites as being available in bedrock, but they actually are not.

Same issue here as owner of rock realm. All 4 of my admins had lost their perms at the same time around 3am newfoundland time jan.23. Using exp. Gameplay edu. Editi9n and cheats on. No issues in the 6 or 7 months this realm is open but today this. Ive tryed everything using a older save turning everything off and even going as far as removing all 150 members of relm. [I'll have a few messages about that tomorow id say...] if anyone knows a solution pls respond. And im using mobile. Andriod to be percise. Ty ty ty cheers FiveRock420

Hello! Realm owner here. Was wondering if there is a timeframe for this? I have a pretty active realm and considering this is a paid service I haven't been able to manage my realm AT ALL today because of this issue disabling my admins and me being at work. It also limits builds we are working on for realm events this weekend. Can we can an update or etimation on this? Thanks!

Sorry, to add, I am NOT able to work around this. Even if I was able to login (cant at work, no wifi) then all I could do is set creative which doesnt allow command block editing. And it would be reset if the player logged off. Their "/" icons have dissapeared as well so forget commands.

We are experiencing the exact same issue on our realm since two nights ago. I have to say, I kinda agree with Kiti Kat here... they're way way more efficient at taking our subscription payments... :/

This issue has been resolved and the fix is rolling out as we speak. It will require a server restart to take effect. Thank you for bringing it to our attention and for your understanding in the matter.

To restart server, close the realm, wait a few mins, reopen it.
And why are people asking for refunds?? LOL!! It was down less than 24 hours. You want a refund for 73 cents?

Not able to restart our realm. Even with everyone logged in. And I dont care about the $ value of time down. I care that I paid for a service, DID NOT receive it for OVER two days. Never was given a fix timeline or notification. And for almost 3 days my server was in chaos. My mappers could not build. My admins could not admin. Its unfair. And I still cant "restart" my realm to fix it.

For clarity, the correct way to get the fix applied is this

Download a backup first!

Not logged into the realm, open the realm's settings

Go to subscription

There is a button on that page that says close realm, click it

Wait a few minutes. We waited 5 and it worked, you might not need to wait that long.

On that same settings page, click the open realm button.

Be warned, make a backup first, I'm hearing stories from some others that they've experienced issues with their realm, including lost worlds or being unable to log in, worlds there but somehow messed up, and missing behavior/resource packs

Indeed, the realm will be stopped after no-one has been playing on it for a while (usually about 5 minutes). Then the next time you enter the realm the fix will be applied. If you can not make the realm empty for that long, the best solution are the steps TXLW and Jason listed.

Could you be more specific please? We released the permissions feature that replaces ops for Bedrock. What you are seeing, is that happening on Java or Bedrock? Is it still happening?

I seem to be having the same problem. I have asked my friend to let me be operator but even after following the steps above to fix the problem, I cannot use my privileges. The world settings button does not appear in the pause menu as well as the icons which usually appear beside players' name. We have tried to make other players operators as well to check if I was the problem, as I am playing on the windows 10 edition, but it seems that the problem persists for other players as well. Just wanted to let this issue be known as the thread has been marked as resolved, but it seems that this problem has resurfaced.
