Server Rollbacks

Realms/Server appears to be reverting to previous versions of a world. Last identified incident was 24-July-2017, after several login/lag errors (bugs already appear to be logged in relation to this), played on a realm for around 3 hours, logged out, came back an hour or so later to find the Realm had been reset to its state some 4-5 hours previous. This is the second such incident in about a month.

Was there ever any solution for this? This has begun happening to my realm. Last week after I spent 3 hours building an event for my realm community, the world reverted to a save several hours earlier. Just last night it rolled back again for seemingly no reason. I have an established community that I've worked hard for, but people will certainly begin to leave if this remains an issue, and I can't blame them. The only instances I find of this happening to others are just like this one, with no comments attached.

Launch day I experienced this alot.  It made sense if people were flooding the realm servers...I guess.   Anyways, I have still been having this same issue. I lost significant progress from last night to this morning.  Maybe an hour or more!  I am the owner of the realm and I did restore from a back up days ago to see if that would help and it did not.  Also noticing slow rendering especially with elytra.. with no other players on the server and worse if there is one other.  The loading of the realm seems to be longer too.  But the loss of progress is my main concern.  I pay for this service.

Had this happen at least twice this week. Very discouraging since I swapped from my own server to a realm for convenience and performance.

This exact issue has been happening on my Java realm as well, but the amount of times it has happened has dramatically increased since the 1.16.1 update.

I've had this happening for the last few weeks, but has happened multiple times a day since 1.16 came out.

Had this happen a few times since the 1.16 update. All players on my realm have experienced losing progress in some way. We reset the nether after the patch and we have single player sleep as well as mob head drops enabled other than that it's pure vanilla minecraft. Can't find any information on this being corrected or a confirmed bug yet. All told as a group we've lost a dozen or so hours of progress due to rollbacks and most aren't logging in until we get some encouraging information on a resolution.

I've never seen this issue, until recently after the 1.16.1 update. The event only happened for me whenever I left the realm for a while, no one was on the realm, and then when i joined back, the server rollback occurred. It took me a while to join the realm before the rollback happened, and I don't know if it's because the server needed to be set up again while no one was on, or if it was because of my own internet speed. I don't know how Realms works, but if I'm right that it had to be set up again, it sounds like it didn't load my most recent progress. I don't know how this stuff works, but this is the sort of stuff I have noticed with this bug.

I continue to experience this issue following the 1.16.1 update, it is very frustrating. Multiple rollbacks of a few hours each have happened in the past few days. They have all happened when I was the only player on the realm and logged off after playing for a few hours. I even started disconnecting and then reconnecting to see if the progress had been reset, but it had not until I logged back in much later in the day.

Having the same issue.  It used to be once a day but now no matter how much or how little progress is made it will never save any progress and keeps reverting back to a backup/save from two days ago.  Real bummer.

We logged onto our Realm this evening (around 7pm, June 29th, Eastern Time), and discovered that at least some of our progress from yesterday (June 28th) had been lost. We had played in the morning and the evening on June 28th. We have the 1.16.1 update.  It seems like our progress from the evening of June 28th was lost.

Environment:

  • Realms server

  • Clients are Windows and Linux (not MacOS)

  • Our Realms server was on 1.15.x, and was updated to 1.16 when it came out. We have been exploring new areas in the Nether to see the new biomes.

Observations:

  • Item inventories appear to have been reset. This seems to affect personal inventories, shulker boxes, and chests.

  • Blocks that had been mined are back (tunnels are gone).

  • Player locations have been reset. I was deep in the Nether when I last logged off, but was spawned back in a town in the overworld when I logged on today.

I don't know if it matters, but we had switched the realm to a few different mini games on the afternoon of the 27th. We weren't able to connect to most of the mini games, so we switched back to our normal Survival Realm that same afternoon. We were able to play for a little on the survival Realm afternoon. We had played since them on the 28th without problems. It was only until this evening (the 29th) that we logged on and discovered the lost progress.

I am a professional software engineer and tester, so let me know if you need any further information, and I can provide it.

This never happened to me until 1.16 came out.  Now it happens approximately 75% of the occasions a player exits the Realm.  It is getting hard to justify renewing this.

This has happened to me before, but now it happens consistently since the 1.16 update. Almost every time any member signs back on to the realm, they are not where they were when they last left. This has undone so much progress, and caused us to replay the same stretch time and time again. It's very discouraging to spend hours mining ancient debris, only to sign on the next day and find that it is all back in the ground.

This has been happening to me too on a friend's Realm since 1.16 came out.  The server often reverts after a period of nobody playing to an earlier state.  Can't be sure about the intervals or how far back it rewinds but there is definitely an issue.  It has happened to other players on the same world

Same issue, canceling Realms until resolved.

This has been consistent on my family's Realms since 1.16 update

Logged in to realms to find that over three hours of building had been completely reset. This has to get fixed as it makes the server unplayable.

I have been having this problem since update 1.16. We're having rollbacks once or twice a week, and it's very frustrating

I first logged this bug almost exactly 3 years ago (or 6 major updates ago, depending how you look at it!)... How is this still not fixed? I'm tired of getting emails about this.

Same happens to me. Stuff like this screw up this beautiful game and makes people become haters...
Please do something about it!
Thx.
