I also have this issue. Its been almost 3 days since I was able to play on my Realm, Its frustrating to be paying for this service and being told by support that nothing can be done.
I for one am canceling my Realm and never purchasing another one. Thanks for the terrible customer service.
I have the same issue. It's been a little over 3 days and I would just like to know how much longer I will have to wait to be able to play again. My username is OS_Matthew

The way the error is written makes it sound like something that is relatively well understood.
My realm has been stuck in OPEN for about 240 hours now. I have cancelled my realm and moved on to a server hosting platform instead, I have much more control. For those of you who who still can't get into your realm, I recommend MCProHosting. Their plans start at $7 dollars a month, you can have a server and much more control for just as much as Realms. Drop this garbage.
It has now been 1211 hours since my realm was usable, or 50 days. Thats almost 2 months, 2 payment periods, where I was entirely unable to use my realm. Support has been useless, and no staff has ever helped us here either. What is this, some kind of joke? I had better receive a refund for the lost time, since there's no way I should pay money for months when the server doesnt even work.

Minecraft Realms for Java Edition has received a lot of updates and fixes over the last two years, so this issue has probably already been fixed in the meantime (e.g. because it was a temporary outage or an issue with the base game).
Since this bug report has not been updated since at least two years, please let us know if this is still an issue in current versions of Minecraft and update the bug report if applicable. If this is no longer an issue, please let us know as well. Thanks!
