It'd be nice if we had a specific tagging function for issues relating to 3rd party tools and such, and for said issues like that, an extra box to label whether it's been tested in vanilla or not.

How you're unaware of the probably hundreds of NBT tags that Dinnerbone has given people the ability to edit over the past months eludes me.

Dinnerbone has specifically given the ability to edit NBT tags for spawners, mobs, even world saves, mostly at the request of people such as Vechs and Sethbling.

If you don't believe me, try reading version changelogs on the wiki, or even putting in a single question to Dinnerbone – whom I would recommend you direct to this thread anyways, since, I don't think you're going to be able to help with a problem you don't think exists since you don't think this has been added.

I'll give it a go later today and try to reproduce it. This is one of those rareish bugs that only happens seemingly at random, so it's a bit of trial and error to get it to work.

Okay, let me hop in really quickly and pen my point. This is a legitimate bug, mods or not, and it happens in both SMP and SSP at seemingly random. It just sort of bugs out sometimes. I'd have to try to activate the bug again, since I'm moderately unsure if it's the door actually only closing/opening half, or just a visual bug.

Rei's minimap or not, it doesn't hurt to ASK if someone else has had the problem in unmodded Minecraft, just to prevent further confusion once someone else reports this, or if a report is filed and you're unsure if it correlates with an installed mod or not. Simply writing a bug report off as 100% invalid simply because mods are installed right off the bat without any hesitation doesn't help much in the long run.

Eh, limitation or not, I don't think it would be out of the range of coding to simply make the fire graphic disappear the second the mob is dead rather than have it continue throughout the entity's dying animation.

Still on 1.4.6. My friend said this issue has been around forever and never addressed, so not expecting it to be. Here's hoping, though.

It's definitely not just Sethbling's filters, and (as of 1.4.2 but I highly doubt this was ninja patched in 1.4.4) the issue also affects giving the tiny zombies or zombie pigmen babies a blockhead. It doesn't scale. Helmets scale correctly, but blocks and player heads do not.

I know Dinnerbone was working on the relight, then postponed it for 1.5 due to frustration. I guess it's better than what Notch did, but even so, I was really hoping for a permanent fix and lagg reduction.

Yeah I find it a bit odd that a flaming bow-shot that kills them in one hit cooks the meat but not a flaming sword-hit. I'm not sure which way Mojang intends it to be, but I think it should be both the bow and sword kill them and cook it.

Requires a bunch of custom spawner messing-with. You'd need a third party tool and such.

I'm not exactly sure how I would go about doing that. I'm using a third party tool called Custom Spawner from here. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1133295-custom-spawner-custom-shop-populate-chests-anvil-light-fixer-and-more/

It might be a problem with how he programmed the tool, then... but this is also a problem with Sethbling's MCEdit filter too, last time I tried it.

The only things I've changed are the spawner type (It has been set to Ozelot; side note, I'll never understand why it's Ozelot and not Ocelot in the code) and the CatType (Any number you set it to crashes the game).

As for the report; see below. It's pretty easy to determine with this that it's definitely the CatType screwing up.

Yeah, what Raphael said. Dinnerbone added in a truckload of tags for spawners that allow people, mapmakers especially to create all kinds of custom spawners. Examples being charged creepers, zombies wearing armor, etc. There's even some (hopefully) planned ones; being able to spawnstack mobs (Spider Jockey) but I haven't heard much about that in awhile.

I'm using a third party tool; but across various third party tools used for the creation of custom spawners through the use of the tags added in 1.3 for custom spawners, cat spawners have never worked.

The infinite obsidian thing is a bit OP. They always want you to have a spawn platform though, for obvious reasons. The only potential fix I could think of would be to have a sort of "endspawn" tag on the 100 blocks (the spawn pad and the other 3 25-block sections above that pad) that prevents blocks from being placed and destroyed in that area. This would also potentially enable people to move that spawn using mods, rather than having to build around it.
