We have been having the same issue for a long time now. It's not the first time we've played the map since the update, it's been an ongoing issue now for quite a while everytime we log it. It doesn't seem to matter what's in the inventory from what we've tested. We are on bedrock on a Realm, we primarily play multiplayer via split-screen on the Xbox series X. First player no issue, it's second player who joins with an empty inventory and no XP, somewhere near the spawn point. We tested with full inventory, tested with putting everything except torches and fish in a chest, and still lost all XP and the torches and fish, but the stuff we put in the chest was still there/were able to see it.

If the 2nd player quits right away and then we close out minecraft and do single player on 2nd players account their XP and stuff is still there, but anyone else who joins the game has the same issue when joining. Seems to duplicate no matter what we change/do so far. If someone joins on splitscreen they have no XP and empty inventory. Big bummer since it's made our realm pretty unplayable for a long time now.

If it's helpful, our realm is pretty old, more than a year for sure, and has lots of stuff on it, so it's not a new world. Hopefully this can be fixed soon and would be happy to give more info if it helps. (I apologize if this is resolved or my comment is not new information/hard to tell since it says unresolved but also says fix version beta and hard to see all the comments, I can delete the comment if it's not needed).

Yeah thanks for the suggestion! Restoring it to a backup does seem to fix it, luckily the realms have auto backups so when it happened to my brother this morning we were able to fix it. I also managed to duplicate the bug. It for sure is something to do with switching platforms/when logging out. How I duplicated it was by playing on Xbox with my brothers account, moving his tools to a chest right before logging out, logging out, and leaving the game etc. Then I logged in on my account on my Windows computer onto the realm, and played for a while without him. My brother then logged in and we were both online after I had been playing for some time and his stuff was gone-not in his inventory or his chest. The rest of the world is the same, anything built even before logging out seems to be fine. Haven't managed to duplicate the items disappearing from my inventory (both entire inventory and just some things) yet but yeah the chest one I am able to recreate. For now will try to back up as best we can, but unfortunate as we often play when each other are not on the realm so this is a bit of a game breaking glitch. Anyone else having this/any idea how it happened on the non-realm? I almost wonder if the glitches are separate, or maybe it has more to do with logging out than switching platforms?

*edit he spawned in the same place he logged out in, had the same xp as well.

Possibly related to your issue. I had the same issue again (second time) today, but instead spawned in as if I had died/was near my bed and lost all experience as well. So yeah. Unfortunate that I am playing on a realm as going back to a backup would undo others progress, but seems like the bug happens both ways. Anyone know of a cause of this/how to prevent it from happening?

I've had the same issue as you twice now. I just had it today. I didn't see any other world changes, but I was missing an enchanted diamond pickaxe from my inventory. Last night I logged out with the diamond pickaxe, and I logged in today on a different computer and it was gone. I went back and tried to log in again and it didn't work.

Not sure if exactly the same issue, but when I logged in I still had nine experience and was in the same place I had been when I logged out (in my house, not near a bed). The last time I had this happen it was the same thing, except I lost an enchanted diamond sword and all my armor.

Are you on realms or just a normal world? I am on a realm, and today it does look like there was an update so maybe something with that? Other people also logged on the realm since I logged off (they logged in on xbox), but the time it happened with a sword nobody else had logged on.

Hopefully can be fixed, but yeah does look like it is pretty rare. I feel for your son though. I felt a bit the same way haha, so I don't blame him.
