Mega_Spud: OK, this is a new screen for me. I see the Settings / Storage and all of the items (141 Worlds, 10 World Templates and 3 Resource Packs). If I un-check the box, it asks if I want to delete them. Are you suggesting that I delete them?  I want to make sure that this is your suggestion.

I've downloaded 1.9.0 running on ipad 10.3.3 (latest ios on old ipad). It results in this same issue where it thinks I cannot connect to the Server. I've rebooted and hit Restore.

My daughter's update to 1.5.1 on iOS 10.3.3 with Minecraft Pocket edition does the same thing: Open with the Minecraft words and then promptly boots her out.

Re: 'Checking periodically'. It was April 4 when this situation happened. It's now May 10. Because my daughter loved her worlds so much, there's been so many 'periodic checks', that it had turned into a cycle of lost time and disappointments with my child. I asked Helen (April 26, after I gave my info) if she could tell me when she has completed the fix, so that the 'periodic cycle of disappointment' would not continue.

My conversation with Helen was April 26. I don't have my daughter's purchases restored yet. It looks like Helen is alone in fixing these issues.

I also wrote Helen and gave the information she requested. Nothing restored yet.

I think it's better for them to tell me when it's restored, rather than me checking with my daughter and being disappointed more.

The only version available to get from the iTunes store is 1.2.15
I don't see a newer beyond that: 1.2.15.01.
Tried the "Purchasing the FREE Legacy Skin Pack". Restore Purchases. Rebooting the ipad. (several times)

Hmm. Updated to 1.2.15. Purchased worlds still locked.

Same here.

A world is locked after purchase and active use.
Second Generation ipad IOS 10.3.3
Minecraft 1.2.14

Looks like Martin has identified a potential source of the error?

I'm not sure this is correct. The iTunes correctly recorded that this world was bought.
The game interface incorrectly show that it was not bought. This is a web interface
problem, isn't it?
