I have been dealing with disappearing villagers for a while now. but with the iron farm buff in the last update, the losses are starting to stack beyond what is acceptable. these villagers have a bed, a workstation, cannot move from their position, have been interacting with, are upgraded to at least level one and ARE NAMED with nametags. there is literally nothing else I can do and they are still disappearing.
red nether brick stairs and slabs also show up as grey on maps
can confirm this is a problem on most recent (as of writing this comment) version. found a creeper and spider on my a fully slabbed/glass area.
there are also spiders in my creeper farm where they shouldn't be able to spawn. have been trying to fix it for most of the day. but it might be related to this issue (using carpets to block spawning)
"intended to be this way"
java version seems to disagree unless I'm remembering wrong, brick blocks are oranges.
it's also inconsistent. red nether brick blocks are red on the map, but the stair and slap versions are not. this should be classified as a bug even if you want to make the argument all stone needs to be grey, then the red nether brick blocks need to be grey, if you want to colour accurately, then the stairs and slabs need to be red.
on a second note, it might not actually be fall damage. it might be stressed out pufferfish. still shouldn't happen I think.
previous java player here, I set up a mob farm 3 times the size I usually do and the drop rate is laughable if gunpowder wasn't an essential endgame item to have. The entire server has only found a total of 5 wither skeletons as we are trying to keep exploring to a minimum until the nether update. 4 of those five were generated when the chuck got created. not being able to build a beacon is severely damaging the playing experience. I'm running the most current version as of writing this comment (I'm hosting a game and don't want to turn that off to double-check.)
and no, no caves nearby are lit up because I'm 190 blocks above an ocean reef biome. there literally shouldn't be anywhere for mobs to spawn other than inside the farm.
I would like to report this as broken again. Buttons on top of blocks don't prevent spawning again (same with string but is intentional I think?)
